The Election Results Are Out, What's Next?
The Palestinian American Community Center worked effortlessly to make sure that our local communities in and around Passaic County were both registered to vote and got out the vote so that our voices were heard and mattered.
At the same time, we acknowledge that (no matter the results of any election) our communities remain vulnerable and marginalized regardless of the individual or political party in power. We need to continue to be empowered and organized to improve our communities and change the status quo. We also recognize that election cycles do exacerbate and heighten tensions around key issues that affect historically oppressed and marginalized communities. We acknowledge the heavy physical and psychological tolls, as well as all the economic and social impacts, that these election periods add to our communities.
Therefore, on this day after the election, and we want to emphasize our commitment and responsibility to serving not only the Arab/Palestinian community but communities of all identities that share similar social categories and struggles. As PACC works to change the systems and narratives that put us in vulnerable positions, our center remains an open and safe space to all people of conscience who may be in need of support of any kind.
Aside from the resources that we provide at PACC, please find below some resources for key issues affecting vulnerable communities in this country.
