This course has reignited the fire within me on Palestine. I am looking forward to doing more on educating people on the plight of the Palestinian people. The best thing about the course is the diversity of information. I never expected to learn about the juxtaposition of African Americans, Indigenous people with Palestine. feel blessed and fortunate to have participated in and taken "Freedom Is The Future" course. The course was not only well-rounded and balanced it was insightful, intriguing, engaging and thought-provoking. The subjects themselves were interdisciplinary and the addressed topics were intersectional. Engaging with leaders from various social justice movements was enlightening. |
Although I am Palestinian, I have never taken the initiative to really dive into the history of the occupation the way this class did. The class was just very enlightening and it made me feel more prepared and confident to speak to & educate people who don’t know about what’s happening in Palestine. With this Freedom is the Future course, PACC has created a space for diverse, thought-provoking, and challenging conversations to encourage all to be a justice warrior for Palestine. Students are equipped with a basic yet powerful toolbox on how to navigate hard conversations about Palestine. I came into the course curious to learn more about how to stand up for Palestine, and would encourage anyone with a similar sentiment to do the same in this brave and welcoming space! |
There were so many things I loved about the Freedom is the Future course. One specific thing I loved was the ability to connect with others who are also in their journey of understanding how to support the Palestinian people. Additionally, learning the historical context of how the occupation began and continues to impact Palestinians was very important for me in my advocacy work. Taking the 'Freedom is the Future' course helped reconnect me to the Palestinian struggle. We are so proud of being Palestinian, but in the comfort of our daily lives, we often forget that Palestine still needs us - even in the diaspora, and arguably even more so in the diaspora. We all have a role to play in the freedom of Palestine and this course helped crystalize that role for me as a Palestinian-American educator. You should definitely take the course if you want to have inspiring discussions with experts in the field, and meet new people in our own community! |
